Brooke Sines

Episode #5

Brooke Sines

Q: Tell us about you and your business?

A: I am a Broker and Team Leader running a team in the West Michigan Area and in Charlotte, NC. I’ve been in the real estate business for 5 years and have always been with the RE/MAX Brand. In my first year, I was honored to receive the Rising Star Award through RE/MAX. I bill myself as the self-proclaimed “OCD” agent as I want clients to really know how detailed my team and I are. We dive in deep to each and every transaction to ensure we’re offering our very best care and service\ every step of the way while also explaining where we are in the transaction every step of the way. My goal with building the team has been to foster an environment with like-minded professionals that offer the very best to our clients while leading with co-creation in mind. You’ll notice it’s not the “Brooke Sines Team” for a reason. Thankfully, I started coaching as a client with Workman Success Systems on my first anniversary in the business. That was single-handedly the best move for my business and my family. It’s allowed me to build a life by design for a work/life balance and it includes amazing systems for our business to easily run multiple teams.

Q: Tell us about your Family?

A: I am a sister, daughter, wife, and mother to two amazing children ages 8 and 11. Our family is definitely an “on the go” family and we have fun with everything we do! Well, I guess my kids won’t say they have “fun” while doing their chores. We truly have a wonderful relationship with one another – one that has only strengthened during this most recent pandemic. We ask each other thought-provoking questions during dinner – and – we always eat dinner (and breakfast) together as a family at the table. We do daily family workouts together where each person has their own day to pick their fave workout to do. We love to watch movies, go boating, play soccer, color, play games, be silly together, and just about anything goes, as long as we’re together. Also, one of the best ideas that I have learned in coaching was to have a child/parent date day at least once a month and a spouse date night at least once a month. These two things have been wonderful additions to our calendar and I put them on the calendar a year in advance so we don’t schedule over them! We have core values as a family too, so we know who we are at our very core.

Q: Tell us about your Community?

A: Our community in West Michigan is where I was born and raised. Michigan has endured many ups and downs over the years – each time rising again to prove their resilience and strong roots. Lately, Grand Rapids has been known as “Beer City USA” and has grown leaps and bounds. It’s been neat to watch the city grow. In our Charlotte community, we work a lot around the Lake Norman area. Being situated in/near a lake community offers a relaxed setting and way of life. However, the hustle and bustle of the big city of Charlotte is only a 30-minute drive away. This community is one I fell in love with way back in 2003. It’s a growing area with local residents and business owners that truly care and give back to one another.

Q: Tell us how you serve or give back in your community?

A: I’m a proud, founding member of the Giving Circle of GR, where a group of ladies gathers every month to donate to a local foundation/charity. Our group of 10 women giving $100 each per month adds up quickly to $1000 per month to be donated locally. We support our communities by promoting local businesses through our business spotlight posts and videos. As a team, we select an organization annually to give back to through monetary donations, volunteering our time, and obtaining donations through our client events that we hold as well. As part of the RE/MAX Family, we also give a portion of our compensation back to Children’s Miracle Network out of each closing. We have consistently been one of the highest office donors to this amazing organization.

Q: How did you come about selecting this cause?

A: I’ve learned at a young age that it’s important to give back. God blesses people with many things in life and sharing those gifts with others is what I believe they’re for. Whether it be financially giving back, volunteering our time, sharing our talents, or in many other ways. I couldn’t possibly select just one cause because they all share a special piece of my heart.

Q: What are some of the specific things you have done to support this cause?

A: Some of the items we’ve done over the years include; hosting a balloon event at a local elementary school – to allow the students to do a balloon walk to get a feel for what the inside of a balloon is like, as well as giving them the opportunity to learn more about what it takes to own/fly a balloon, volunteeringmy time to reading in classrooms at our local schools, providing snacks on “Count Day” to less fortunate schools, organizing a coat/glove/hat drive for the local community, organized a “stuff the backpack” event with a local organization for underprivileged students starting school, cleaned the grounds and provided landscaping work at local schools and non-profit organizations, sort donations received at the local food pantry, held a food drive/donation center at each client event we host, made food for families in need and for homeless teens, organized a fundraiser for a local “single mother new housing campaign”, created a “teacher of the month” program at local schools to highlight teachers that go above and beyond, hosted classes and volunteered at local nursing homes, created community celebration locally for 2020 grads during this pandemic and have done many more similar types of “giving back” opportunities.

Q: What has been the impact on the community, your team, and family?

A: Every little bit counts. That’s what we tell the community. It’s also what we say within our team and within our family. We foster a culture of giving back and we believe that if you lead, others will follow. By teaching the kids this motto at a young age, I hope this will encourage them to learn from it and ingrain it in their DNA; for future giving back.

Q: What are your plans going forward?

A: Don’t ever stop. I’m told all the time that I need to say “no” more, but the truth is – it’s hardly in my vocabulary. I feel if there’s a will – there’s a way and it just needs to be put together with a plan.

Q: How would you recommend agents or brokers get started if they want to make a difference?

A: “Just Do It”, as Nike says. Look around you … all communities need help somewhere. Help senior neighbors, visit the elderly in nursing homes, bake for those in need, reach out to others that volunteer and ask how to get involved, ask your church, among others. The opportunities are endless.
