Q: Tell us about you and your business?

A: I am the Broker/Owner of CB&A, Realtors in Houston, TX. We are approaching 300 agents with 3 locations & growing! We are a Fast 100 company in Houston & have been named, “The Number One Place to Work in Houston,” for 4 straight years by the Houston Business Journal.

Q: Tell us about your Family?

A: Married to Katherine with two kids – Addison, 13 & Isaac, 9.

Q: Tell us about your Community?

A: We are in the (soon-to-be) 3rd largest city in TX & the most diverse city in the US. We spread over an area bigger than New England & have a population greater than 28 states! It’s big…

Q: Tell us how you serve or give back in your community?

A: Three years ago, in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, we set up the CB&A Foundation to provide a relief fund for our agents. Not knowing what would happen, we said that any other funds raised would go back into the community. By the end of this year, we will have put over $150,000 back into the community.

Q: How did you come about selecting this cause?

A: As our giving has evolved, we have gravitated towards helping at-risk youths reach their full potential. We believe that in doing so we can assist in breaking generational poverty, and ensure vibrant communities for the future.

Q: What are some of the specific things you have done to support this cause?

A: We sponsor, Calf Scramble Youths, at the Houston Livestock Show, and provide scholarships for area kids. We fund a scholarship for future entrepreneurs at a local university, we work with local food banks to make sure kids have food at home, and we underwrite a week-long summer camp for at-risk kids. Our largest endeavor though, begins this year with a $50,000 pledge to Big Brothers Big Sisters for a Beyond School Walls program at each office where our agents will be able to mentor one-on-one with at-risk kids from local schools.

Q: What has been the impact on the community, your team, and family?

A: Our agents have embraced the foundation. It’s been a great thing for our culture. It also has obviously had a great impact on the kids we serve too.

Q: What are your plans going forward?

A: Our plan is to continue to find impactful ways to help our communities become stronger.

Q: How would you recommend agents or brokers get started if they want to make a difference?

A: Act now. Just go & do something. There are so many ways to help with so many people in need.
